I began training with Jason at Champion Fitness in September, 2011. Why? My first grandchild, Osker, was born March 11, 2011 and while my daughter was pregnant my reoccurring thought was…I’ve got to start a fitness program to put me in position to enjoy and actively participate in my grandchildren’s lives. And now I have a second grandson, Tuck, is almost 1 year old, now. I regularly read the Statesman newspaper and began reading Jason’s column and decided to begin my fitness plan with him.
I regularly read the Statesman newspaper and began reading Jason’s column and decided to begin my fitness plan with him. Initially when I started I had chronic lower back pain from a tractor/train collision in my early 20s and have always experienced days of soreness after a round of golf or other activities involving my back. Also, I had shoulder issues that resulted in throwing underhanded due to multiple rotator cuff surgeries, and had minimal core strength from decades of a job sitting behind a desk and job travel.Originally, my plan was to train with Champion Fitness long enough to become familiar with all the exercise routines, then begin working out on my own at home. I’m not the brightest bulb in the box but it became readily apparent to me that Champion Fitness (Jason) keeps the exercise routine NOT routine!! Jason keeps things interesting via his character/persona, changing things up, encouragement, and paying attention to detail…he sees that you do it right all the time. And now, I play golf with minimal back pain, can throw a ball over handed again, and am in better shape than I’ve been in decades thanks to Champion Fitness.
